The Definition and Purpose of a HVAC System
Whether it’s the middle of summer or the dead of winter, you want your house to be a comfortable temperature. This is almost impossible to do without the help of a HVAC system, otherwise known as a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system. A HVAC system also includes home comfort controls, thermostats and ductwork. At WM Priebe Mechanical, we are proud to offer maintenance, repair and replacement for all HVAC types.
New Technology, Increased Comfort
In today’s world, HVAC systems are the required industry standard for homes and commercial spaces. There are four main types of HVAC systems to help with Michigan heating and cooling.
- Split Systems: The most common types of HVAC systems, components are located both inside and outside the home. The system works together to keep the home at the ideal temperature through the year and each system contains an air conditioner, furnace, thermostat and air ducts.
- Hybrid Systems: Like split systems, hybrid systems are becoming more popular as homeowners can switch their heat pump from gas to electrically fueled. Hybrid systems contain a heat pump, evaporator coil, a furnace, thermostat and airducts, and can save energy and money.
- Duct-Free Systems: Some homes can’t have ducts, and duct-free systems are an ideal choice for them. Duct-free systems vary in size and contain a fan coil, thermostat and heat pump. Tubing and wires are utilized to connect the outdoor unit to the refrigerant.
- Packaged Heating and Air System: For homes that don’t have the space for the split system components, a packaged system is ideal. All features, including an evaporator, fan coil, thermostat and heat pump/air conditioner system are packaged together to save space.
At WM. Priebe Mechanical, we are one of the most experienced heating and cooling companies in Michigan and are happy to answer any questions you have about your HVAC system.
